House Landscapes

Entire snow landscapes are becoming ever more popular.

Materials:

  • thick, hard white cardboard
  • cutter
  • house templates
  • decorative cotton
  • branches
  • white spray
  • Styrofoam
  • fairy lights
  • glue stick

Instructions:
Use something like an old newspaper as a protection pad for the table so that you do not scratch the table while cutting. Draw the outlines of the templates on the cardboard, not forgetting the numerous windows. With the cutter, your work will be more exact. Now cut out the walls of the house. The outer corners of the wall are folded in order to glue them to the side panels later on. Leave one base missing!

After gluing the sides and the roof together (be careful to glue the corners inwards), you can begin with the decorative aspect.

  1. Taking the Styrofoam , put holes through it in various spots so that you can place the little lights of the fairy lights into it. During this process, the platter should not be punctured. We recommend fairy lights with a white cable and blue lights that conform to the GS security proven standards. Place the sockets of the lights from above into the holes. Do not worry about the momentarily visible cable.
  2. Now take the cotton and place it on the platter. Pull the cotton apart on those spots where the lights are so that they will be visible later on.
  3. Now place the houses above the lights and the snow. Pluck the cotton in such a manner that the houses will be supported.
  4. Spray the branches with the white spray. After they have dried, they will look like little trees that are covered with snow. Stick the branches through the cotton into the Styrofoam, between or in front of the houses.
