Happy Holiday Greetings

CD’s are the perfect craft material as you can create many great things on your own.

Materials:

Two-sided card with insert in yellow, green, red or blue, 10.5 x 15 cm
Silver or gold Christmas stickers
CD’s
Transparent paper (80 g/m2), pencil
Black foil and felt-tip pen
Scissors, precision handicraft knife
Glue stick and pads
Possibly: Marabou-Fixogum Rubber Cement

For the fir tree:
Marabou-Fun Magic Liner in cherry red and lemon
3-D metallic crinkled cardboard in gold, 3 x 3 cm
Fake snow, brush
Hologram glitter in gold
2 pieces of 3-D glue pads

For the stars:
Marabou-Brillliant Painter in gold, 2.4 mm

For the candle:
Marabou-Fun Magic Liner in cherry red
Green construction paper, 3 x 8 cm, 3-D glue pads

For the Christmas bell:
3-D metallic crinkled cardboard in gold or silver, 7 x 10 cm
Hologram foil, color by choice, 3 x 3 cm
Construction paper, 3 x 3 cm
Hot-melt adhesive

  1. Copy the templates 2a through 5a onto the insides of the two-sided card, cutting them out. Glue the glue pads along the edge of the cutout, placing the custom-fitted CD (template 2b – 5b) on top. Exception: for the fir tree card with insert, do this at the very end.
  2. Glue the insert with the glue stick behind the CD, making sure that no glue is on the middle part of the insert as this will otherwise be seen through on the front side.
  3. Attach circa 1 cm tall candles, slightly indented, to the tips of the branches for the fir tree card with the red Fun Liner. After drying, place little flames above the candles with the yellow Fun Liner. Cover the branches with fake snow, scattering the hologram glitter on it while still damp. Affix the crinkled cardboard star (template 2c) with the 3-D glue pads circa 1 cm above the tree.
  4. Glue the green construction paper (template 4c) with the 3-D glue pads on the lower border of the candles for the candle card. Dot the green with red berries.

For the Christmas bell, glue on the crinkled cardboard ribbon (template 5d) with the hot –melt adhesive. Glue the hologram foil onto the construction paper, cutting out the star (template 5d), fastening it onto the middle of the ribbon with the hot-melt adhesive.

Tips:

Always glue the stickers with the merry greetings in the middle, flattening them to the side in order to make sure that the writing is straight. The beams of the star – the same goes for candles – also shine brightly if drawn with a golden touch-up pen and charted with a ruler. That saves the minute cutting out process.
