Star Talers

Sawing delightful angels simply out of wood!
You will quickly achieve “heavenly” results with these simple instructions.

Material:

  • Spruce wood glue, 1 cm thick, 30 x 30 cm
  • 5 natural wooden stars, diameter 2 cm
  • Boxwood garlands, circa 20 cm
  • Natural raffia, circa 20 cm
  • Taping wire in black, circa 55 cm, diameter 0,55 cm
  • Marabou-Decormatt handicraft colors in nude, white, gold metallic
  • Coloring pen in red, green
  • Transparent or architect paper
  • Pencil
  • Fretsaw, mechanical fretsaw or compass saw
  • Fine wood drill
  • Sandpaper
  • Round pliers
  • Scissors
  • Wood glue

  1. Transfer the examples onto the linoleum wood. Saw out the arms, wings, body and star, drilling holes at the designated sites. Smooth the wooden edges with sandpaper.
  2. Paint all the sawed out wooden pieces as well as the five wooden stars with the colored pens as shown in the picture. First use the pencil to sketch the face, then draw over the outlines with a colored pen.
  3. After the color has dried, smooth out the edges with the sandpaper until the natural wood color partially reappears. Glue the arm to the front of the body, the wings to the back. Place the little stars evenly on the dress with wood glue.
  4. Cut two pieces of wire to 4 cm and 15 cm and wrap them as a spiral around the log wood. Pull the long taping wire through the boreholes into the hair and feet as mounting suspension, bending the ends over the round pliers.
  5. Wrap a little wreath with a diameter of about 5 cm out of the boxwood garland.
  6. Fasten the wreath and star at the arm with the shorter piece of wire. Feed the ends of the wire through the appropriate boreholes, thus suspending the wreath. Bend the wire ends over the round pliers.
  7. Tie a little ribbon out of the natural raffia around the wire hangers at your discretion.
